Why I sleep in a Coffin - Charlyboy

Sleeping in a Coffin?
Point of correction, I do not sleep in a casket, I sleep on my bed, it's big and comfy, I only lay in my "casket"when I do my meditation because it helps me to be focused, it tells me more about the imminence of death. My casket is a reminder. It wakes me up from slumber. It tells me, "guy, you have got little or no time left, wake up, be creative and work”.

Of course, when I read some of the comments of my people, I know a good number of us are ill-informed about quite a number of things. I think it is more of what the casket represents that shocks my people and they start reading meanings into it, depending on their level of understanding. But one question is, what if the same wood that was used to build the casket was used to make a sofa chair? May be, all the hullabaloo about me sitting on a chair wouldn’t have been there in the first place? So when people vocalize their disapproval of my message via the image of a casket,  I understand that they do that from a position of Fear, fear of what the casket represents - Death. So whatever people fear they antagonize. But, the fact that I have reminded myself and even you about death does not really change a thing. It won’t draw your death near, and it won’t even shift it away. All it does is simply a reminder, to thread carefully.

MY Coffin sensitizes
Only if a kidnapper can buy a casket for himself today, and begin to lay inside, constantly reminding himself that death looms even as he goes about kidnapping and extorting money from families. It’s possible to realize at a point that all his activities will one day end up in a casket, and there, his flesh will rotten. The same is applicable to all evil doers. They need to realize, like in the famous book, “Waiting for Godot” that the world is bizarre and empty, as vanity plus vanity will always end up in vanity. Crime no dey pay jor.

My Coffin preaches:
Take a critical look at my image inside the coffin, it speaks volume. I always lay in my casket with my cap, glasses, shoes on. I’m always well dressed. Yes, it is always done intentionally to tell us that your glory disappears with all the wealth you must have acquired the very day you go to that coffin. Your glory-your cap goes with you, your vision-your glasses goes with you; your struggle-your shoes goes with you. The only thing left of you is your history and your legacy. The crux of the message is to leave a legacy, so we can live forever, not in the physical, but in people’s memories.  As for me, I will live forever. You dey vex???

We are blind because of our fears
Who knows what any of us sees from the privacy of our own blindness? Make no mistakes, each of us is blind in a particular way, just as each of us is sighted uniquely. Consider how each of us is blinded by what we fear. If we fear heights, we are blind to the humility vast perspectives bring. If we fear Passion, we are blind to the comfort of Oneness. If we fear change, we are blind to the abundance of life. If we fear death, we are blind to the mystery of the unknown. And since to fear is something thoroughly human, to be blind is unavoidable. It is what each of us must struggle to overcome. To a large degree, I have overcome my fear of death, all I ask God, is that may my death not be painful. I’m sure some of you know how my cousin who was killed by kidnappers died an agonizing death. You see, in the course of our lives, we all stumble and struggle, repeatedly, in and out of relationship, in and out of the grace of the hidden wholeness of life, most of us struggle and stumble with the uncertainty of tomorrow as Nigerians. I have discovered that in the course of our lives, and as blind children, we may never know what we are called to be until we have learned what we are called to become by simply overcoming our fears. In life, death is the most important reminder of all activities.

Rapper Rick Ross finally apologizes for date rape lyrics... but is criticized for claiming his words were 'misinterpreted'

The rapper denies that he would ever condone rape and that's not what he's lyrics were about

Rapper Rick Ross has finally apolgised for song lyrics that appear to endorse date rape.
However he has again faced criticism after appearing to shift the blame for the furore surrounding his rap on Rocko’s song U.O.E.N.O after he claimed he had been 'misinterpreted.'
The 37-year-old has been hit by yet another backlash due to the seemingly halfhearted nature of the statement he issued on Twitter.
He said: 'I dont condone rape. Apologies for the lyric interpreted as rape.'

Many pointed the seeming straightforward nature of the words in question, which are as follows: ‘Put molly all in her champagne, She ain’t even know it, I took her home and I enjoyed that, She ain’t even know it.’
Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts , made the move after a petition was launched demanding Reebok discontinue using the rotund rapper in their advertising due to the nature of his lyrics.
And in an apparent move to see off the criticism at the pass, he also directed a tweet toward Reebok writing, 'Apologies to my many business partners, who would never promote violence against women.'
His antics seem to have blown up in his face, with scores of social network users speaking out to blast his apology.
Professor, author and activist Marc Lamont Hill tweeted: 'The fact that @rickyrozay apologized clearly to @reebok after offering an "i'm sorry y'all misunderstood and got mad at me' says everything."'

High rolling Australian gambler takes casino to court after losing £1billion in just 14 months

From: Dailymail.

A high rolling gambler who lost a staggering $1.5 billion (£1billion) in just 14 months has taken a casino to court in an attempt to recoup just a tiny fraction of his losses.
Harry Kakavas, a real-estate salesman who made a fortune selling houses on Australia's Gold Coast, claims Melbourne's Crown Casino were aware he had a gambling problem but took advantage of his 'special disability'.
Described in Australia's High Court this week as the 'highest of high rollers' Mr Kakavas would fritter away eye-watering sums of money in 'frenetic' stints at the baccarat table.

A report in the Canberra Times tells how, in a single session in May 2006 he lost an incredible $164 million in just five and a half hours betting up to $300,000 per hand.
After flying a jet to the gambling mecca of Macau on a whim, he lost US$4 million in just one day. He also took frequent gambling trips to Las Vegas.

The court heard how he served a brief jail sentence for stealing $286,000 and had borrowed millions from banks, friends and family to feed his habit.
An earlier attempt by Mr Kakavas to recover losses of $20.5 million from the casino at Victoria's Supreme Court failed both at the original hearing and again on appeal in May last year.
His legal team are asking the High Court to consider whether the Crown Casino took 'unconscionable advantage' of their lucrative client by letting him gamble on despite his obvious addiction.

Allan Myers QC, described his client as a clinically diagnosed pathological gambler who had severely impaired ability to make rational decisions at the betting table.
He said: 'What the evidence demonstrates ... (is) that this was a man who did not and could not control his urge to gamble and Crown knew it.'
Mr Myers said the casino had at one stage attempted to get a letter from a psychologist before allowing Mr Kakavas to re-enter their casino, proving they were well aware of his condition.
He added: 'They knew that he was a serious and problem gambler.'
The case continues.

Monica Braithwaite doesn't bat an eyelid as daughter Rihanna swears in front of her ...

Rihanna's often wayward behaviour has been criticized in the past as not being appropriate for someone who is a role model to young girls.
However, it appears that her own mother is not concerned by the singer's bad attitude.
Monica Braithwaite didn't bat an eyelid as she sat and watched her daughter make a one fingered gesture as she posed for a photograph.

The two women were out shoe shopping together as part of Monica's birthday celebrations when Rihanna decided to flash her bad girl side.
The Rude Boy singer stuck her tongue out and swore at the camera as her mother sat next to her in the footwear store.
Rather than make Rihanna refrain from the unladylike behaviour Monica sat with her legs crossed while also posing in a pair of sunglasses. click here for more.

Activists slam Beyoncé and Jay-Z for endorsing Castro's oppressive regime by vacationing in Cuba..

The pair were staying at the Saratoga Hotel and fans lined up outside to catch a glimpse of the famous couple.

Their presence caused a commotion in the capital, with a population of 2 million, and on Wednesday night, police had to intervene after the couple were mobbed by fans during a dinner date.
Flanked by their entourage and a bevy of bodyguards, they spent their week touring around the city in fashionable attire.

Jay-Z and Beyonce are clueless about the tortures happening in Cuba, and it's insulting they chose to visit the communist country for a celebration ... so says a Cuban rights lobbyist.

Mauricio Claver-Carone, the D.C. director for the US-Cuba Democracy PAC -- a group committed to fighting for democracy in Cuba -- tells TMZ the A-listers should've educated themselves about what's really going on there before taking photo ops.

Jay and Bey were photographed Thursday in Havana -- reportedly to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary -- but have since come under fire from some Cuban-American groups.

US citizens are still technically banned from traveling to the island purely for tourism ... and are supposed to obtain a travel license from the US government.

Mauricio says he's disappointed the superstars chose to vacay in Cuba because, "There are women getting beaten on a daily basis, women who are being jailed for no reason ... people are fighting for their freedom. It’s extremely insensitive."

The vacation has left one human rights activist in a state of disbelief.
'There are women getting beaten on a daily basis, women who are jailed for no reason...people are fighting for their freedom. It's extremely insensitive,' Mauricio Claver-Carone, from the U.S.- Cuban Democracy Political Action Committee, told TMZ.
Washington's 51-year embargo makes it illegal for U.S. citizens to visit Cuba for mere tourism, although tens of thousands of Americans travel there each year on academic, religious, journalistic or cultural exchange visas.
The Obama administration eased many of the restrictions in 2011, but tourists still need a special visa or have to go as of an organized tour.

Michelle Obama mistakenly describes herself as a 'busy single mum'

US First Lady, Michelle Obama raised eyebrows with her brief slip of the tongue yesterday Thursday April 4th when she described herself as a 'busy single mum' during an interview with a Vermont CBS station, the Flotus.

She caught her mistake immediately and explained: "You know, when you've got the husband who's president, it can feel a little single, but he's there,". She then described herself as 'busy working mom."

The First Lady was answering questions about the difficulties that working parents can have when they try to balance their office lives with their home lives. "Before coming to the White House, I was in that position," she confessed. "Working, driving kids to practice, not having enough time to shop or cook, not having the energy." 32 people, including 22 Nigerians arrested for multi-million credit card fraud in the US....

Some 32 people, including a Hudson County jail nurse, have been arrested in a multimillion, multi-state identity theft and credit card fraud ring.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office first got involved in the investigation in the early fall of 2012, when they received numerous complaints from victims as far away as California claiming that credit cards in their name made fraudulent retail purchases in Hudson County, officials said today.

Using store video and physical surveillance, the detectives were able to identify several suspects, authorities state. Detectives then linked those suspects to hundreds of other accounts and millions of dollars in phony transactions.

The leaders of the group, authorities say, purchased the identities of unsuspecting victims from online brokers, who got the information from computer hackers across the United States.

In a process known as "punching," electronic account information from the cards' magnetic strips would be transferred onto counterfeit cards, which were provided to "strikers" who conducted the purchases at retailers all over the Eastern Seaboard, authorities say.

Teams of strikers purchased retail gift cards that were then used to purchase various electronic items, authorities say. Those items were then sold in bulk to fences in New York and New Jersey, authorities say. The fence would then sell the items to other people for cash payments.

The investigation has identified nearly 1,000 victims across the country and millions of dollars in phony transactions, authorities say.

Authorities say the suspects spent the proceeds on luxury cars, high-end jewelry and other lavish expenses. Some of the money was additionally sent to accounts in Nigeria, authorities say.

Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Guy Gregory commended a long list of agencies that were involved in the take down, saying, "The operation could not have succeeded without their assistance."

Oladayo Araromi, a nurse at Hudson County jail making $79,298, has been suspended without pay, Hudson County spokesman Jim Kennelly said today.

Of the 32 arrested, 24 appeared in Central Judicial Processing court this afternoon. Bail was set for those who appeared by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Joseph Isabella prior to their court appearance.

More arrests are expected, said Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Gene Rubino.

Gambian president warns homosexuals to stay away from the country or regret being born

Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh, has warned that any gay or lesbians found in the country will "regret" being born. During a speech on March 28th at the opening of the country’s parliament, President Jammeh said:
Homosexuality is anti-humanity. I have never seen homosexual chicken, or turkey. If you are convicted of homosexuality in this country, there will be no mercy for offenders.
Homosexuality is anti-god, anti-human, and anti-civilization. Homosexuals are not welcome in the Gambia. If we catch you, you will regret why you are born. I have buffalos from South Africa and Brazil and they never date each other. We are ready to eat grass but we will not compromise on this. Allowing homosexuality means allowing satanic rights. We will not allow gays here.
So homosexuals, biko stay away from the country! :-)

Pretty pregnant Kim K and baby daddy Kanye West set to split?

MediaTakeOut.com just got word this morning that a major news publication will shortly be reporting that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have split! According to our snitch, the pub reportedly has a high level snitch who is saying that the pair has agreed to split - but are not going to announce anything until after this season of Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, and after the Kanye's album release this summer.
The word is that he couple is scared of all the bad press that they'd receive if they split so soon. As for the "baby" . . . we'll see what happens.
I don't necessarily believe this but here's more. Kanye is on a self imposed exile in Paris...so while Kim is pregnant, they live in different continents. Also, on Easter Monday Kim Kardashian took an 11 hour flight to visit Kanye in Paris. They were photographed on several outings with sour faces each time. Two days later, she was back in the US.

Also, in a recent interview while promoting Tyler Perry's Temptation, Kim talked about her pregnancy and described herself as being alone. Plus, they were supposed to move in together in February, but Kanye later put the house they bought up for sale and moved to Paris. I hope we are all just reading too much meaning into what's going on between them. I hope they make it.

Govs Wada, Obi Tasks Odeke, Aguleri-Otu Communities To Exercise Restraint

Governors Idris Wada of Kogi and Peter Obi of Anambra have called on the people of Odeke and Aguleri-Otu to exercise restraint, as their dispute over some oil wells would be resolved by the National Boundary Commission.

The two governors who addressed a joint news conference in Abuja, called on the communities to ensure good ghbourliness.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that on April 3, the two communities clashed over the oil wells being harnessed by Orient Petroleum Company on the boundary coastal community of Aguleri.

Wada, while briefing newsmen on Thursday, said the people must exercise restraint as the issues in contention over the border dispute were been resolved by the NBC.
``The proper demarcation of the boundary is on the directives of President Goodluck Jonathan.``That both governors will ensure a peaceful and equitable resolution of the dispute that will benefit the people and further good neighborliness.

``Both governors also call on those trying to cause disaffection between the two brotherly states, with a long affinity to desist from such attempts.

``What Nigeria needs now is peace which will attract development,’’ Wada said.

He described as ``false’’ recent media reports excluding NAN, stating that 400 houses were burnt in the clash.

According to him, only five houses were torched, adding that the fracas were ``completely exaggerated’’.

``For emphasis, neither Kogi nor Anambra States reported any loss of life, contrary to media reports that 57 lives were lost.

``In fact in addition to the five house that were burnt, another four motorcycles were destroyed during the fracas.

``We are taking inventory of the losses from both sides and we want to assure the people that compensation will be paid,'' he said.

Also answering questions from newsmen, Obi explained that the Aguleri-Otu people in Anambra East were peaceful people, saying that the presence of adequate armed policemen would help boost the peace.

``We are prepared to wait for the outcome of the demarcation of the place,’’ he said.

On the allegation that the fight might have been responsible for the evacuation of the site by the Oriental Oil, Obi said ``it was flood that rather made production impossible for now and not the clash''.

He explained that the company was due to return to the site to commence production as soon as possible.

Joseph Kony: self-proclaimed prophet with blood on his hands.

KAMPALA — Joseph Kony, the elusive leader of one of Africa's most brutal rebel groups, Lord's Resistance Army, has waged a more than two-decade long insurgency sowing terror across four countries.
Believed to be hiding in the jungle, he is one of the world's most wanted men, and on Wednesday, the United States put a $5 million bounty on his head.

The reward for Kony came after Uganda announced it had suspended its hunt for him in the Central African Republic after Seleka rebels last month took control of the country.

Uganda, which had over a thousand troops operating under the auspices of the African Union (AU), said it could not continue the mission because the AU did not recognise the Seleka capture of power.
Combining religious mysticism with bloodthirsty ruthlessness, Kony claims to be fighting the Ugandan government to impose the Bible's Ten Commandments.

The self-proclaimed prophet and his band of guerrilla fighters are accused of abducting tens of thousands of children, mutilating civilians and turning young girls into sex-slaves in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, South Sudan and Sudan.
The United Nations says about 450,000 people have been displaced by Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) attacks.

In 2005 Kony, and four of his deputies, were the first people indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Two of the deputies were later killed.
A member of the Acholi ethnic group, Kony is believed to have been born some 50 years ago in Odek village, near the town of Gulu in northern Uganda.
After a basic primary school education, he took up arms around 1987, following in the footsteps of another messianic rebel, Alice Auma Lakwena, a former prostitute thought to have been either his cousin or aunt.
Lakwena, who died in exile in Kenya in 2007, believed she could channel the spirits of the dead and told her followers that holy oil could stop bullets.
Kony claims he receives dictates from the Holy Spirit on everything from military tactics to personal hygiene to terrify subordinates into obedience.

The rebellion claims to be defending the Acholi people against President Yoweri Museveni.
At the height of the conflict, the government had forced some two million people into camps.
Kony, who speaks broken English and Acholi, has only rarely met outsiders but in an interview with a Western journalist in 2006 he said he was "not a terrorist" and had not committed atrocities.
"We want the people of Uganda to be free. We are fighting for democracy," he said.
But ex-LRA abductees say they were forced to maim and kill friends, neighbours and relatives, sometimes by biting them to death, and participate in gruesome rites such as drinking their victims' blood.
In the mid-1990s, the LRA conflict spilt into neighbouring countries after the Sudanese government in Khartoum began backing the group in retaliation for Uganda's support of southern Sudanese rebels battling for independence.

When Sudan signed a peace deal with the southern rebels in 2005, support for the LRA dried up and, after being forced into neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo by the Ugandan army, Kony agreed to peace talks.

But negotiations dragged on and, amid distrust and anxiety over the ICC warrant, Kony failed to turn up to sign a comprehensive peace agreement.
In December 2008, the Ugandan army -- backed up by other regional armies and US financial support -- launched airstrikes against the LRA's bases in northeast DR Congo.
The attack failed to capture or kill Kony and his top commanders and the LRA splintered into small groups.
In late 2011, following pressure from US campaigners, President Barack Obama deployed around 100 US special forces troops to the area to help regional armies track down Kony.
Kony surged to unexpected worldwide prominence in March 2012 on the back of an Internet video calling for his capture.

Made by US-based advocacy group Invisible Children, the Kony2012 film became one of the fastest-spreading online videos in history after receiving more than 100 million clicks in just a few days.

Lil Wayne is down on drugs....

"And to the kids drugs kill I'm acknowledging that / But when I'm on the drugs I don't have a problem with that." - Lil Wayne, "Live From 504"

(CNN) -- Lil Wayne is down on drugs -- for others. For himself, well, it's a different story.

The man who infamously told Katie Couric during a 2009 interview "I'm a gangsta, Miss Katie. I don't take nothing from no one. I do what I want to do," has been equally outspoken about his use of "sizzurp" or "purple drank," a prescription cough syrup made with a combination of promethazine and codeine.

"Sizzurp" has even found its way into Lil Wayne's song lyrics, and his issues with substance abuse have been well documented. Promethazine has several uses, including treating allergy symptoms, easing nausea and as a sedative. According to Drugs.com, dangerous side effects can include "twitching or uncontrollable movements" of limbs, face, eyes and the tongue.

Of course, rappers talking about drug use is nothing new. As is often the case with hip-hop -- which began as a vehicle to document the lives of inner-city youth -- art, more often than not, imitates life.
But Lil Wayne's recent hospitalization has cast a spotlight on hip-hop and drug use because of fans' concerns over his past behavior. Scant information has been released about what may have caused the award-winning artist, who was born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., to have a seizure that landed him in a Los Angeles hospital. His label's publicist confirmed to CNN at the time that the rapper had suffered a seizure.
Lil Wayne: I'm 'more than good'
And what will happen now that he's out? Talking drug use is one thing. But rehab seldom comes up in the conversation.
"Where hip-hop falls short is in addressing the rehabilitation aspect," said writer JasFly, who has reported on the industry. "Wayne is one of our hip-hop rock stars, but where is the help for him?"   Visit CNN for more.

Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, what you two doing?

These are still shots from their new music video for the song 'High School', which premiered on MTV this morning. There's a soft-core love-making session between these two in the video. Nicki, that's your label boss...don't do that! hehe!!. *Kidding*. See the video after the cut..

What is wrong with this photo?

You guys please tell me that's not what I think it is. hehe!!!
