Namibian baby with FOUR legs has surgery to remove limbs after government pays for operation

A two-month-old Namibian boy has undergone dramatic surgery after being born with four legs.

Andrew Palismwe, of Caprivi, is responding well to treatment after undergoing a nine-hour operation to remove two legs at the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. 

The baby is now recovering at the Windhoek Central Hospital in Namibia, reported The Namibian.

Andrew's mother Ruthy Mutanimiye said at the hospital that her son had ‘quickly responded to medication’ after a day in intensive care. 

She also spoke of her relief that her child received the operation that she could not afford.

The Namibian government paid for the surgery through a fund that assists state patients with no access to private medical care.

Ester Paulus, a spokesman for Namibia's Ministry of Health and Social Services, said: ‘The fund was established to assist patients who do not have the means to undergo private treatment. 

'We attend to every application with urgency, and currently, there are no pending application forms.’

She refused to disclose the cost of Andrew’s operation, saying: ‘No amount of money can be measured with saving a life.'

Sources close to the couple confirmed the decision, which comes five days after Kim welcomed her first child at a hospital in Los Angeles.

The revelation ends the intense speculation over the child's name, with other rumoured options said to include Kaidence Donda, in honour of Kanye's late mother.

And a  source told UsWeekly that the couple have already given their daughter a nickname - she will be 'Nori for short'.

They added that the child has no middle name.

TMZ witnessed a signed birth certificate with the name North West signed by Kim, 32, and Kanye, 36, at Cedars-Sinai hospital.

People magazine confirmed the news with a source close to the Kardashian family.

The name North had previously been suggested as a possibility for the child, although many Kardashian fans had dismissed the idea as a joke.

And the revelation certainly proved fruitful amongst Twitter users, as North West began trending within minutes. 

It also sparked a slew of jokes from would-be comedians amused by the choice.

Back in March, Kim denied rumours that Kanye wanted to name the baby North.

‘I do like Easton, Easton West,’ she joked on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno at the time.

Indeed prior to the baby's birth on Saturday it had been expected that the pair would continue the 'K' theme that runs in Kim's family - which is something that Kim has spoken about in the past.

While North was to prove her final choice, Kim was said to be very keen on Kaidence, to match her family's fondness of the letter 'K'. 

The reality star was reported to like the idea of calling the baby Kai for short.

And further report claimed the middle name would be Donda, in honour of Kanye's late mother, who died in 2007 due to complications from cosmetic surgery.

Meanwhile Kim's close friend Larsa Pippen recently revealed that she had been to visit the baby in the hospital and a decision was nearly made.

But she said Kim didn't welcome her suggestions.

'We kind of went back and forth and the name that I wanted, [Kim] didn't love,' she said. 

While fans had been desperate to know the name of the baby, the child's step uncle Brody Jenner revealed on Thursday that he didn't want to know.

'It's so new, so I'm going to give her some time and then as soon as she's ready, I'll come see her,' he told Ryan Seacrest.

Promising rapper Lil Snupe shot dead at 18

Promising young rapper Lil Snupe has been killed at just 18 years of age. 

Recently signed to Meek Mill's Dream Chaser's label, the hopeful is reported to have died on Thursday morning following a shooting. 

Lil Snupe's manager @Leem7st confirmed the sad news via Twitter.

No official details have been revealed about the exact nature of the teenager's untimely demise. 

According to Billboard, Snupe has either been living Baton Rouge or Jonesboro. 

His manager, DJ Smallz and Dream Chasers' Louie V Gutta tweeted of Lil Snupe's death this morning.

Meek Mill signed Snupe to Dream Chasers last year after listening to his mixtape for just 20 minutes, 

The late artist told MTV News in February: 'He was in a van, they was gonna pull off.

'And I went and knocked on the van, on the window. 

'They let the window down, grabbed the mixtape and it was like 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later they called me.'

'He was spittin' so much pain, he's from the south with a flow like an east coast guy,' Meek told MTV.

Snupe's last Tweet read: 'i Hold it Down 4 Louisiana.'

The mixtape 'Real Ni--a in Charge,' was released in April.

Driver caught bonking employer’s wife, Gets arrested

Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police arrested a Bangladeshi private driver after catching him with his employer’s wife in her car late night. The woman was freed. Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice were on a routine night patrol in the western Saudi town of Makkah when they saw a Prado four-wheel vehicle parked outside late at night.

When they came close to the car, they found the couple in an “intimate position” while the woman’s husband was visiting London, Alsharq daily said. The 27-year old driver confessed to having an affair with the woman, who “burst into crying” after she was caught with him. “The driver was arrested and taken to the police station pending trial while the woman was freed and handed over to her guardians to avert a scandal,” the paper said without identifying the woman. 

Another Baby Born With Quran In Lagos

Residents from various parts of Lagos have been coming to catch a glimpse of a baby allegedly born with a miniature Quran at 9, Oguntade Street, Shasha area of the state. (crowd at the residence where the baby was born) Incidents like these are scientifically impossible, but residents of the area say it is true even though some of them confessed that they did not see the baby clutching the miniature Quran, the holy book of the Muslims. They were only told about it.

It took efforts for P.M.NEWS reporters to gain access into the one-room apartment of the baby’s parents as a result of the crowd that took over the place.

The mother of the baby, Kabirat Lamidi, a 32-year old hairstylist, said right from the conception of the baby, she had been sick.

She said when the baby refused to come out after 11 months, she went for a scan where it was shown that she had an object in the womb with the baby.

The Ede, Osun State indigene who said she had been married for 10 years, said she was shocked to discover that few seconds after the baby was delivered, she pushed out a Quran.

“I have been hearing about such incidents and I have always insulted people thinking it could never happen. I believe it is a gift from Allah,” she said.

She said as a Muslim, she was not even dedicated and did not know how to pray, expressing surprise that such an incident could happen to her.

The mother of three said she had always given birth in the hospital but that on this day, she went into labour so fast that she could not move.

Muslim man gets 11 years jail after burning Bible

A Muslim man received a harsh prison sentenced after he burned the Bible, according to court proceedings in Egypt. The Islamic preacher, who is known in Egypt for his hate speeches against Coptic Christians, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for burning a Bible in front of the U.S. embassy during a protest against an anti-Islam movie, last year. An Egyptian court in Cairo sentenced Ahmed Abdullah on Sunday for insulting religion and for burning of a Bible. He was also fined 3,000 Egyptian pounds, or about $430.

 Abdullah’s son was sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of 2,000 Egyptian pounds, or $286 for his role in the Bible burning. Abdullah publicly burned the copy of the Bible as part of a protest against the anti-Islam movie “Innocence of Muslims”.

The movie was produced in the United States by a Coptic Christian of Egyptian origin, and raised anti-American protests in the Muslim world. Abdullah also announced that he planned to send his grandson to urinate on the Bible. The decision was a surprise to many, since the Egyptian courts are heavily biased towards Islamists.

Nigeria: Gunmen On 38 Motorcycles Invade Zamfara Village, Kill 32

Kizara — More than 32 persons were reported killed in the early hours of Tuesday when gunmen numbering about 150 attacked Kizara village in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara.

The heavily armed gunmen, who came on 38 motorcycles, invaded the village at about 4 a.m., shooting sporadically at anybody in sight.

An eye-witnesses told newsmen that the attackers set several houses and shops in the village on fire.

The witness said that the gunmen moved from house to house pretending to be residents of the village and shouting for help.

He added that when people came out, the invaders either killed them with their guns or with machetes.

The witness, who pleaded anonymity, said that the gunmen also invaded the residents of the Village Head, Alhaji Lawali Muhammad, the Chief Imam, Alhaji Usman Adamu, and his assistant, killing them.

The Commissioner of Police in Zamfara, Mr Usman Gwary, who visited the village under tight security, confirmed that 32 persons were killed while the villagers claimed that 58 persons lost their lives.

The police chief told newsmen that he had mobilised his men to search for the fleeing gunmen.

The Chairman of Tsafe Local Government Council, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar, told NAN that the villagers had been living in fear since suspected men of the underworld sent a letter to the head of the vigilance group threatening to kill him.

Following the attack also, several residents of the village were seen fleeing the village for fear that the attackers would return to kill them. (NAN)

Mrs Obama and her daughters were joined on the trip by Auma, the president's half-sister, who studied in Germany and lives in Kenya. Torres determined to stay at Chelsea despite Mourinho's 'added pressure'

Fernando Torres admits that return of Jose Mourinho has brought an added pressure to Chelsea – but the Spaniard has re-iterated his desire to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Torres has failed to live up to his £50m price tag since arriving from Liverpool in 2011, despite netting 23 goals for the Blues last season with Barcelona rumoured to be looking at a cut-price deal.

But the Spanish international believes returning manager Jose Mourinho will reignite his game further - despite all eyes being on Stamford Bridge with the 'Special One' coming back.

Pele - Neymar has to improve

Brazilian legend Pele believes Barcelona’s new recruit Neymar has to improve to succeed in Europe.

The 21-year-old recently completed his anticipated move to the Camp Nou but Pele believes he has to develop in some areas to have a strong impact at his new club.

"It’s clear that the marking in European football is different to Brazilian or South American clubs," Pele told reporters.

"They’re stronger, the marking is tighter and the referees are used to this type of play. I think that this will be Neymar’s main difficulty.

"He has some obstacles to get over: he needs to play in a World Cup, he needs to improve his heading.

"By way of comparison, we had (Zinedine) Zidane a short time ago, one of the last great names in world football. He was an extremely complete player. Neymar still needs to get to that level."

Neymar is currently representing Brazil at the FIFA Confederations Cup where he has already made his mark by scoring his first goal during the 3-0 win over Japan, finishing with a sublime volley.
